It will be a night full of non-stop excitement and open wheeled action at Grays Harbor Raceway this Saturday August 24th.  The 3/8-mile clay oval speed factory returns with the Pepsi Open Wheel Frenzy featuring the Northwest Wingless Tour, Shipwreck Beads IMCA Modifieds, and the USAC Ford Focus Midgets.  It will be an evening full of high speeds, side-by-side racing, and family fun that you do not want to miss.

Tickets will be Adults $13.00, Senior (62+)/Juniors (13-18)/Military $10.00, Youths (6-12) $5.00, Youths (5 and Under) FREE, Family Pass (Two Adults and Up To Four Youths) $30.00, and Premium Seating $20.00. Pit gates open at 2:30, front gates, 4:30, and racing starting at 6:30.

The Northwest Wingless Tour has visited GHR twice this year during their Non-Wing Speedweek back in July.  In those two races Kyle Miller got the job done to sweep the weekend.  Currently there is a fantastic point battle between defending champion Bill Winsley and Rob Lindsey.  Winsley has a narrow two point advantage headed into Saturday’s race.

The Shipwreck Beads IMCA Modifieds return after a week off.  Zack Simpson and Joe German have both managed to win twice this year at Grays Harbor which is the most anyone so far has been able to do.  A list of drivers that have won once includes Jeremy Shank, Josh Muller, Scott Miller, Jesse Williamson, and Craig Moore.  German has a slim eight point lead headed into the event over Tom Sweatman.

Chase Goetz has won the most USAC Ford Focus Midget races at the 3/8-mile so far this year.  Chase has visited victory lane a total of four times in 2013 when it comes to Grays Harbor action.  The only driver to have beaten him has done so twice and that is last year’s champion Jared Peterson.  Goetz has currently has control of the point lead by sixty markers over current runner-up Garrett Thomas.

Pepsi is once again the official soft beverage sponsor of the Grays Harbor Raceway courtesy of Harbor Pacific Bottling Inc.
