Eugene, Oregon’s Kyle Miller put his Gary’s Subaru Service/Grant Springer Racing Engines/Finest Detail #10 XXX mount back into victory lane leading all thirty laps of the second round of the Northwest Wingless Tour Non-Wing Speedweek. Thirteen entries would sign in at registration for the second straight night of action at Grays Harbor Raceway in Elma, Washington on Saturday, July 13.
Miller would take full advantage of his front row starting position. He would seize the lead on the initial start and would dominate the field. The only thing that would slow Miller down would be a lap sixteen incident that would bunch up the competition one final time.
As the rest of the race would progress Miller would develop a massive lead over the rest of the competitors. Lapping all the way up to sixth place he would take the checkers three-quarters of a lap ahead of second place. The triumph would mark his fourth of 2013 with the NWWT.
Pat Canfield, in the Van Raden Industries #25 XXX, of Ariel, Washington would cross the line in the runner-up position followed by Damascus, Oregon’s Kyle Mehner in third piloting his extremeturbosystems.com/Fast Racing Engines #7K XXX. Vancouver, Washington native Mike Romig ended his night fourth in the Herz Precision Parts #22R Eagle while completing the balance of the top five finishing order would be Rob Lindsey from Wilsonville, Oregon would earn fifth in the Maxline Cases/Competition Suspensions Inc./Speedmart Inc. #23 XXX entry.
Kyle Miller would set fast time of the evening at 16.383 seconds at the beginning of the night. Earning heat race wins were Mark Herz of Sandy, Oregon, in his Hertz Precision Parts #28 machine, and Rob Lindsey.
The Northwest Wingless Tour will trek south to the Cottage Grove Speedway next Friday and Saturday night for the third and fourth races of the first ever Non-Wing Speedweek. The Grays Harbor Raceway will take Saturday July 20th off before they return back to action on Friday the 26th and Saturday the 27th for the Shipwreck Beads Northwest Modified Nationals.
