LACEY, WA, July 1, 2013: Lacey continues its tradition of kicking off the area’s Independence Day celebrations with the Lacey Fireworks Spectacular on Wednesday, July 3. The 15 minute display will be launched from William Bush Park, 4400 Chardonnay Drive NE in Lacey, beginning at 10:15 p.m.

Bush Park will be closed to the public beginning the morning of July 2 through July 3 as crews prepare for fireworks setup and launch. The Spectacular will be visible to most residences located within 3/4 miles.

Local merchants welcome families to view the show from the Lacey Crossroads/Lowes parking lot at the corner of College Street and Yelm Highway. Visitors are reminded that alcohol, personal fireworks, and vending are prohibited. RV and motor home parking is discouraged and parking is permitted in provided legal spaces only.

Law enforcement will be patrolling the parking lots of all local businesses on July 3 and providing traffic control to ensure safety. Please note that that there will be street closures and detours in the area from 10:00 to 11:00 p.m. It is recommended to arrive early to allow time to find appropriate parking.

Lacey Crossroads, the Lacey Chamber of Commerce, and the City of Lacey are happy to sponsor the July 3 Fireworks Spectacular. Residents and visitors are encouraged to celebrate Independence Day in a safe and enjoyable manner that is within the law.
