grays harbor racewayFan Appreciation Night at Grays Harbor Raceway has become one of the enjoyable events around for race fans.  For a period of time the track will be shut down and all the competitors on hand that day will be brought out on the track.  From there fans can get up close to their favorite drivers and receive hero cards to get signed or pose for pictures.

GHR is proud to announce that this event will return to the 2013 and will take place this Saturday June 1st.  And coming back to sponsor this night from last year are the fine folks from Our Community Credit Union.  All five classes will be on hand for which includes the 360 Sprints, Shipwreck Beads IMCA Modifieds, USAC Ford Focus Midgets, Cut Rate Auto Parts Street Stocks, and Hornets.

“We love fan appreciation night, it gives us the opportunity to celebrate with the community,” commented Daris Devaney, Vice President of Marketing at Our Community Credit Union, “It’s also a family night for the OCCU employees, we provide their tickets so they can relax with their families and enjoy a fun evening.  We appreciate being able to help sponsor Fan Appreciation night, it’s such a popular family event and we want OCCU to be a part of the fan’s experience.”

Last year Jay Cole led the entire distance in the 360 Sprint to pick up his one and only feature victory of the season.  Jared Peterson showed his dominance in the USAC Ford Focus Midgets that night and performed a clean sweep on the competition.  Scott Miller would earn the Modified feature victory after a late race restart to win for the second week in a row in the same fashion.  In the Street Stocks Jason Tole led early then lost the lead and got it back late in the race to win his fourth straight main event.  And Brian Norton would become the third different Hornet feature winner in three nights of racing.

Saturday night’s admission is Adults $13.00, Senior (62+)/Juniors (13-18)/Military $10.00, Youths (6-12) $5.00, Youths (5 and Under) FREE, Family Pass (Two Adults and Up To Four Youths) $30.00, and Premium Seating $20.00. Pit gates open at 2:30, front gates, 4:30, and racing starting at 6:30.
