Thank you, ThurstonTalk readers, for an outstanding 2012.

As we usher in 2013, we wanted to take a moment to thank you – part of our loyal and growing readership for the story ideas, helpful comments, supportive compliments, and gracious reminders over the past twelve months.

As you know, ThurstonTalk publishes positive stories about people, businesses, and organizations doing good things in Thurston County.

All of our stories are posted to our website and distributed via Facebook, Twitter, and email networks.  The more often stories are shared between people, the greater the reach to others which means that our good news is expanding.  Feel free to post our stories any time to your Facebook page or share with friends and family via email.

What you may not know is that on a monthly basis, we reach over 250,000 people that are interested in hyper local stories about our community.  These are people, like you, that want to know about upcoming events, successful businesses, outstanding leaders, delicious local food, talented artists, and committed student athletes.

You may also be interested to know that we have been publishing for just about two years.  In that short (relative to century old newspapers) timeframe, we have developed a core business model that creates value for our customers while sharing content with our readers.

Finally, you may also be curious about our team.  We have grown to over 20 people, including 15 professional writers, that all live, work and play in Thurston County.  We are passionate about living in Olympia and that shines through in each of our positive stories.

In 2013, ThurstonTalk will continue to create stories around people that are making our community a better place to live.  We will write about local students achieving success on the field, court, and classroom.  We will publish event information and will maintain a robust calendar full of fun things to do around Olympia.  We will continue our Thrifty Thurston series about inexpensive family fun which posts each Thursday morning. We will draft interesting articles about historical places around town.

And, above all, our content will remain free – free to access, free to read, and free to share.

Cheers for a prosperous 2013!
