With both teams sporting perfect league records coming into the game, the annual football match-up between North Thurston and Timberline High Schools Friday night at South Sound Stadium in Lacey had huge implications other than the cross town supremacy at stake.  With a win, North Thurston would clinch first place in the 3A Narrows League, thanks to their 21-20 victory over Shelton last week.   Timberline, who hosts Shelton in Lacey next Friday, had other plans, as they dominated the Rams from start to finish en-route to a 24-0 victory over their rivals.  Timberline, now 7-1 and 5-0 in league play, must defeat the High Climbers to take home the league title.  If Shelton, who defeated Tumwater earlier this year (Tumwater is the only team to defeat Timberline this season) is able to defeat the Blazers, it would set up a three-way tie between Shelton, North Thurston and Timberline at the top of the 3A Narrows League.”
