A complex, haunted corn maze is center stage at the Rutledge Corn Maze until October 31st.  Then, paintball players from all over the Puget Sound Area take over the maze.

Building on the popularity of previous year’s events, the paintball action continues as Rutledge Farms and Elma Paintball team up to bring you this year’s event “ZOMBIE WARZ”.   This year the corn maze will be taken over by Zombies who will do battle against the world’s most elite police enforcers as paintball fanatics play out a complex scenario game filled with prizes, costumes and in game special effects.

Paintball is a physically demanding sport where players must develop a good team strategy and be able to make quick decisions in order to eliminate opponents and win the game.

“This year’s storyline is that a zombie break out has started and governments from around the world have assembled an elite police force to try to contain them,” explains John Heater of Elma Paintball who designed this year’s paintball scenario.

Participants can register to be either a zombie or a member of the world police. Heater requests that all zombies arrive in costume, ready for action.

Between games, Heater explains that character actors will be used to perform “cut scenes” much like those used in video games to help the story line play out as the game advances from one scene to the next.

Heater expects about half of the game participants to be returning players.  “If you are new to paintball, it’s an awesome family friendly event to play,” he explains.

Heater adds that while the minimum age to play is 10 years old “the story line is pretty complex,” and is most suitable for teens and adult players.

Zombie Warz will be played at the Rutledge Corn Maze on November 10th, December 1st, December 26th, and January 5th.  Gates will open at 8:00 am with play beginning by 10:00 am.  The game will last until dusk.
