Mother’s Day is Sunday, May 13th.  It’s not too late to grab a restaurant reservation to treat Mom to a delicious meal and then travel around town enjoying some other Mother’s Day highlights.

Brunch Ideas

Budd Bay Cafe – 360.357.6963

Enjoy a local favorite – award winning brunch at Budd Bay Cafe.  Grab a window seat and enjoy a 180-degree view of the State Capitol, Olympics, and beautiful waterfront setting.  A delicious brunch buffet will be served from 8:00 am – 3:00 pm before the regular dinner menu is offered.

Anthony’s Home Port – 360.357.9700

Another great spot to grab a delicious meal will enjoying a breath-taking view is at Anthony’s Home Port.  Brunch is served from 9:00 am – 2:00 pm and all menu items include blueberry coffee cake and a fruit platter.  The menu highlights mostly breakfast items with a few lunch choices sprinkled in.

Anthony’s Hearthfire Grill – 360.705.3473

Perhaps you are taking Mom to brunch on your boat.  If that’s the case, make Anthony’s Hearthfire Grill your stop.  Built on pilings over Budd Inlet, the restaurant has an unobstructed view of the sound.  Typically only open for lunch and dinner, the restaurant has prepared a special menu just for Mother’s Day.  Five or six breakfast items will be served from 9:00 am – 1:30 pm before dinner service begins at 2:00 pm and highlights the restaurant’s surf-and-turf selections.

Situated across from the Olympia Farmer’s Market, Mercato is an upscale, casual restaurant focused on simple, fresh Italian fare.  On Mother’s Day, the restaurant will be featuring a special menu throughout the day.

Treat Mom to a delicious brunch prepared by Paprika Catering.  Menu includes a crepe bar, fresh fruit, quiches and mimosa’s.  Enjoy live music while you eat.  Professional photographer will be on site to capture your family’s special moment.

Want to try something different than a traditional Mother’s Day brunch?  Make reservations at Basilico for an exquisite four course dinner.  Cuisine features a selection of hand-made and hand-cut pastas all produced according to the old Italian tradition.

 

 

Other Activities Throughout Mother’s Day Weekend

Create Mother’s Day Cards at LOTT – Saturday, May 12th 10:00 am – 2:00 pm

Design and create beautiful Mother’s Day cards.  The WET Science Center at LOTT will provide the art supplies.  Dads – bring the kids and your imagination.

Experience the Wooden Boat Festival – Saturday, May 12 and Sunday, May 13

Stroll around Percival Landing and look at classic wooden boats.  On Saturday, kids can practice their wood working skills at a boat building station.  Visit more than 50 arts and craft booths, about 20 food vendors, and listen to live entertainment throughout the weekend.

Send the Kids to the Museum – Saturday, May 12th 6:00 pm – 9:30 pm

Although not a traditional way to celebrate Mother’s Day, sign the kids up for Parent’s Night Out at the Hands On Children’s Museum and enjoy some quiet, parent-only time.

Attend a Ballet with Live Music – Friday, May 11th through Sunday, May 13th

Want to be outside and learn more about the interesting habitat at Mima Mounds?  Pack a picnic lunch and attend the 17th Annual Prairie Appreciation Day.  Activities include wildflower walks, informative lectures on birds, insects, and geology, and gardening advice.

Send Mom on a Garden Tour – Saturday, May 12th 10:00 am – 4:00 pm
