olympia house cleaningIt doesn’t matter if you want the high traffic areas in your home cleaned once a week or if you want your entire house cleaned from top to bottom once a month, Scottiejo McNulty, the owner of Elite Cleaning of Washington is willing to customize a housekeeping schedule and routine that works best for you, and she and her crew will provide the labor and cleaning supplies.

McNulty worked for Bald Eagle Cleaning for two years before the opportunity to buy the Thurston County  branch of the business presented itself.  She launched  her re-named independent business, Elite Cleaning of Washington, last June and has already expanded the client list she inherited from Bald Eagle by about 16 customers.  And she’s looking to grow her business even more.  At present McNulty employs a crew of three housekeepers who, depending on the size of the job, work alone or as a team.

When she brings on a new client, McNulty starts by visiting the home and providing an estimate based upon how quickly she believes her team can accomplish what the client wants done.  Unlike some companies who charge by the square footage of the home, Elite Cleaning of Washington charges a flat fee based upon the estimate.  It works out to $30/hour with the typical residential job running between $75 and $90.

“I don’t care about the hours,” says McNulty. “If it takes us three hours and 15 minutes, it doesn’t matter to me.  If I estimate that I think it’s going to take about three hours, we don’t just leave in three hours.  We leave when the job is done.”

“When we do an initial deep clean (for a new client) we have the whole team so that everybody can learn the house that day,”  says McNulty.  Then, based on schedules, it’s usually one or two people depending upon the size of the job and availability.  She also schedules multiple people for larger homes so that the work can be completed in a timely fashion.  McNulty is personally involved and supervises the initial clean for every new client.

Like residential clients, small businesses can customize a cleaning schedule and expect a flat fee. McNulty is hoping to expand the commercial side of her business, too.  She also works with realtors on move in/move out cleaning services.

Elite Cleaning of Washington provides all the cleaning supplies including vacuums and rags.  They are proud to use green cleaning products that are natural and nontoxic with no harmful fumes or hazardous chemicals.  If clients have other product preferences, McNulty is willing to accommodate as much as possible, but the client must provide them.  For wood floors, Murphy’s Oil Soap is used.
