Olympia Area Weekend Events Update: Saturday October 15th and Sunday October 16th

Saturday October 15th:     Get ready for some serious cool with the arrival of Kool and the Gang at the Little Creek Casino (91 W. State Route 108 Shelton, WA 98584). Boogie down to some of their greatest hits of the past, “Celebrate,” “Jungle Boogie,” and “Ladies Night.” The doors open at 7PM and the show starts at 8PM, you must be 21 years older to attend. Saturday October 15th:     The Masterworks Choral Ensemble will be performing at the Washington Center for the Performing Arts this Saturday evening at 7:30PM. In a concert entitled, “For the Beauty of the Earth,” the ensemble will reflect our human bond to nature and celebrate its beauty. Featured in the performance will be guest artist and songwriter Dana Lyons, who is the musical spokesperson for the environmental movement reflected by the concert.

Tickets: Adults cost $18, Students and Seniors cost $15, plus the $3 Washington Center service fee.

 

 

Friday October 14th through Sunday October 16th:               Get ready for a rousing round of great thought-provoking documentaries from the Olympia Films Society. During their Documentary Film Festival, the OFS will be showing some great films covering a wide variety of topics from modern agriculture (“Farmegeddon”), alternative rock bands (“Everyday Fishbone: The Story of Fishbone”), environmental issues (“Green Fire”) and much more.
