Friday October 7th through Saturday October 8th:     Join the fun and arts along with the Olympia Film Society for its 30th Anniversary bash! Celebrating in conjunction with the festivities for the Capitol Theater’s 87th birthday, the OFS has put together a great weekend activities roster of fun events for all ages! On Friday from 5PM to 9PM, there will be 4th Annual OFS Silent Auction (FREE admission). This family friendly event will not only be a great way to support the OFS, but some of Olympia’s finest illustrators as well. They have worked hard to amass a collection of sketches and drawings that represent the history and grandeur of the Capitol Theater. These pieces will also be reproduced to appear in the “Capitol Theater Coloring Book.” In addition, the OFS has announced that there will be additional pieces up for auction featuring interpretations of, “Nikki McClure, Reuben Story, Ray Maeda, Chelsea Baker, Rick Perry and more.”

The fun continues on to Saturday with a Vaudeville Variety show just for adults. The performance will feature talented aerialists, short skits from favorite local comedy/burlesque comedy performances, and a screening of classic silent films including, “Cops,” with Buster Keaton. Tickets for the show start at $10 and can be purchased at www.brownpapertickets.com
