Noise and Traffic Advisory

June 17-19, 2011

Due to the upcoming Olympic Air Show, a high volume of traffic will be experienced on Saturday and Sunday, June 18 and 19, in the following locations:

• I-5, Exit# 101 – Tumwater Blvd: both the north and southbound exits
• Tumwater Blvd: from I-5 exits to Capitol Blvd/Hwy 99
• Capitol Blvd: from Trosper Road to Old Hwy 99, and Old Hwy 99 to 88th Avenue, with traffic congestion at Henderson Blvd

The highest traffic volumes will be during patron entry from 9:00am – 2:00pm on both days, and patron exit from 4:00 – 6:00pm on both days.

Noise related to the Olympic Air Show will take place at the Olympia Regional Airport at the following times:

• Friday, June 17:  5:00 – 7:00pm (practice session, not open to the public)
• Saturday, June 18:  12:45 – 4:15pm
• Sunday, June 19:  12:45 – 4:15pm 

A complimentary pair of ear plugs is available to residents who may be disturbed by the aircraft noise.  They will be available at the Olympic Flight Museum between the days of June 7 and June 19.  The Museum is located at 7637-A Old Hwy 99 SE at the Olympia Regional Airport in Tumwater.
