Liberating Lacey

Lacey has been liberated. That’s the assessment of Sam Hunt, state representative from the 22nd legislative district.

Hunt made those remarks at a fund-raising kick-off celebration for Jeff Gadman, candidate for the Lacey City Council. Gadman was appointed to a vacant seat on the Lacey City Council and is seeking election to that same seat.

Hunt said that with the appointment of Gadman, “Lacey now has a progressive majority.” He was refering to the election last year of three new members to the Lacey council, replacing three veterans.

Stew Henderson, chair of the Thurston County Democratic Party said that Gadman’s campaign has already scared off at least one possible Republican candidate and urged the assembled supporters to continue to urge possible candidates to run for one of the other two council seats up for election this year.
