This weekend was Quilceda Creek’s 2011 Spring release party, where they unveiled their 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon.

I know. Quilceda Creek Vinters is not a South Sound winery, but they are one of the premier wineries in Washington State.

Quilceda Creek Vinters was founded in 1979 by Alex and Jeanette Golitzin. They released their first Cabernet Sauvignon vintage in 1979. Their son, Paul Golitzin, took over as head winemaker in 2000.

Quilceda Creek WinesQuilceda Creek’s signature Cabernet Sauvignon wine has received prodigious accolades, and specifically their 2002, 2003, 2005, and 2007 vintages received 100 point scores from Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate.

Only 15 wines in the US have received 100 points scores from Parker, and only 5 wines in the entire world have received back-to-back 100 point scores.

Are you getting the message here? Quilceda Creek is a big deal.

These events are private and by invitation only. Luckily my friend was recently added to their coveted wine list, and invited me to attend as his guest.

Quilceda Creek Production Facility

Quilceda Creek’s production facility is nestled in a residential neighborhood in Snohomish, WA, and due to zoning restrictions they are only open twice a year.  With only being open on a limited basis, this event draws a crowd.
