Public Meeting Notice:
Deschutes Valley Trail Informational Meeting
Date: Monday, April 30, 2012
Time: 6:30pm
Place: Tumwater City Hall, Downstairs Training Room
The City of Tumwater’s Parks and Recreation Department is holding a public meeting regarding the design of the Deschutes Valley Trail. This trail will provide multi-use access from the City’s southeast border at Pioneer Park to our northern border at Historical Park/Capitol Lake. It will allow residents to walk, jog, bike and blade through five parks, the Tumwater Valley Golf Course and the City’s 20-acre watershed. As the backbone of the City’s adopted Trail Plan, the initial phases of the Deschutes Valley Trail are now being designed. For a map of the trail, see the meeting notice on the City’s website.
The discussion at this planning meeting will focus on the trail section from “T” Street to “E” Street. This section starts at a future neighborhood park site at the end of “T” Street, follows the border of the Tumwater Valley Golf Course and continues through the City’s wooded watershed in the Palermo Valley. It continues past the Palermo neighborhood, extends past the Tumwater Valley Athletic Club and up Tumwater Valley Drive to “E” Street.
Residents and homeowners are encouraged to attend this planning meeting, learn about the trail specifics, ask questions and provide input on the trail design. For more information, please contact Tumwater Parks and Recreation at 754-4160.
