Public Hearing to Discuss Plastic Bag Ban

The City of Olympia has set a public hearing to discuss a proposed ordinance to ban single-use plastic shopping bags.

Citizens are encouraged to attend the hearing and provide their input.

If adopted, the ordinance will apply to businesses within Olympia’s city limits. The City of Tumwater and unincorporated Thurston County have already adopted the ordinance. Other cities and towns in Thurston County may schedule public hearings in the future.
