LBA Woods Acquisition Celebration

The City of Olympia Parks, Arts and Recreation Department in conjunction with the LBA Woods Coalition is excited to host an LBA Woods Acquisition celebration on Saturday, October 22, 10:00 a.m. at LBA Park, 3333 Morse-Merryman Rd SE. The celebration will commemorate the fact that on September 27, the Olympia City Council took the historic step of approving an option to purchase the second and final “LBA Woods” property. This 72-acre property (also known as Bentridge) is adjacent to LBA Park. Earlier this year, the City purchased the adjacent 74-acre property (also known as Trillium/Ashton Woods). The new park will be the third largest city park in Olympia. 

The celebration will feature refreshments and a short tour of LBA Woods. Immediately following the celebration, the Friends of LBA Woods is hosting a work party from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. to continue removing Scotch broom and other non-native, invasive species. The public is welcome to attend either or both events on Saturday.
