Green Saturday Restoration Party

Last year we encouraged the community to walk away from the commercialization of Thanksgiving and pitch in for a Green rather than Black Friday. This year, post digestion and recovery, we are holding a major work party on Saturday rather than Friday and called Green Saturday. With permission from the City of Olympia, we will be removing invasive species from the right of way at the eastern end of Hays Ave. NW in Olympia, WA. This will enable us to get access to the lower 2.73 acre “heronry parcel”. These are beautiful woods with 100+ year old big leaf maple trees with a view of Puget Sound, located just upland of the most polluted shoreline in Thurston County. Bring gloves, weather appropriate clothing, sturdy shoes, tools!
