Next Tuesday, May 5, Evergreen will host an entrepreneurs’ symposium with opportunities to learn from successful entrepreneurs, network and tap into new resources. The symposium will be held in the Communications Building on the Olympia campus, from 4 to 7pm.

The evening’s keynote features Enterprise for Equity’s Executive Director, Lisa Smith, who will discuss opportunity and civic engagement as a context for success. Smith brings over three decades’ experience working with business, academic, governmental, environmental, workforce, tribal and non-profit partners.

Attendees can also participate in small group sessions with entrepreneurs such as Sash Sunday of OlyKraut, Jeremy Van Dorman of Northwest Construction Cooperative, Eben Greene of United Creations, Lizzy Rieke of The Flaming Eggplant Cafe and Abigail Blue, an independent researcher, all Evergreen graduates.

Participating community organizations include Thurston County Chamber of Commerce, Thurston Economic Development Council, Business Resource CenterWashington Center for Women in Business (WCWB), South Thurston Economic Development Initiative (STEDI) and Evergreen’s Student Employment and Work Study Program.
