The fifth annual Junior League of Olympia Community Summit on Resilient Children, Resilient Communities is a FREE one-day workshop for parents, educators, community members and anyone interested in the future of our children and community.

The focus will be on Parenting in Today’s Modern World. We’ll have speakers discussing challenges facing children in our society today.

We are pleased to announce our schedule for Community Summit 2017:

8-9 a.m.: Registration
9-10:30 a.m.: Keynote Speech, Q&A and Community Conversation with Emily McMason, parenting coach and blogger at Evolving Parents.
10:45-11:30 a.m.: Breakout Session A
11:45 a.m.-12:30 p.m.: Breakout Session B
12:30-2 p.m.: Lunch, Panel on Community Engagement and Community Conversation

The 2017 Community Summit breakout sessions will focus on the following topics:
Fatherhood
Non-traditional parenting (co-parenting, single parenting, kinship parenting)
How to manage stress at home
Transitioning into the teen years

A resource fair with several local organizations will be present for participants to learn of different opportunities and resources for both children and families. If you are a member of an organization who is interested in being a part of our resource fair, please email us at summit@jlolympia.org.

Lunch will be provided and FREE childcare is available on first-come, first-served basis.
