Mother’s Day Weekend, May 6-8, 2016

Friday at 7:30pm | Saturday at 2pm and 7:30pm | Sunday at 2pm

It is a first for Olympia—a full-length classical ballet with a live symphony playing in the orchestra pit at the Washington Center for the Performing Arts.

“For years, Ballet Northwest has staged a ballet performance over Mother’s Day weekend. This year we’re continuing the tradition, with an added element—Ballet Northwest will perform Coppélia with live accompaniment from members of the Olympia Symphony. It is an exciting artistic collaboration which will provide an incredible experience for audience members,” said Ken Johnson, co-artistic director of Ballet Northwest.

Often billed as the “happiest ballet on Earth”, Coppélia is a comic ballet, one enjoyed by all ages, and proof that there is family-friendly ballet beyond the Nutcracker.
