16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence

Beginning on Sunday, Nov 25, which is International Day Protesting Violence Against Women, ZSPS hosts Congressman Denny Heck, who will address upcoming congressional legislation, such as the passage of the Equal Rights Amendment, and will show a film “In the Time of the Butterflies” from 2 PM – 5 PM at the Olympia Unitarian Universalist Church in Olympia. The film, rated PG13, stars Salma Hayak, and relates the historic events when the Mirabal sisters resisted a dictator in the Dominican Republic, defending human rights and the empowerment of women.
