Back by popular demand! The Harlequin stage is about to ignite with their rollicking musical adaptation of William Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night, wherein Shakespeare’s characters bear a striking resemblance to rock icons. An Elvis-like Duke Orsino carries a burnin’ love for the beautiful and Madonna-like Olivia. John Lennon, Janis Joplin, Bob Marley, Johnny Rotten, and Little Richard, among others, also become involved in Shakespeare’s uproarious comedy. Featuring music by Bruce Whitney and lyrics by Scot Whitney, each of the thirty original songs are performed in the style of their respective rockstar crooner.

Our story takes us to the island of Dyleria where the shipwrecked Viola arrives disguised as a boy, unwittingly setting off a chain reaction of romances gone awry, mistaken identities, love triangles, and ultimately, one of Shakespeare’s funniest plays. And how does our group of history’s most legendary musicians react to all this confusion? By rocking out of course! Their righteous jams guide us to a happy ending in this rocksong wonderland.

Serious Shakespeare. Serious Rock’n’Roll.
