Rick Steves “Changing the Way You See the World”

Travel author and TV personality Rick Steves will be speaking in Olympia on Saturday, September 20, 2014, at  7:00 pm at the Washington Center for the Performing Arts.  In his Changing the Way You See the World, travel writer and public television producer Rick Steves shares how travel has broadened his perspective and why that matters. In an age with so many Americans are being dumbed down and manipulated by fear, Rick makes the case that a traveler can be much like the medieval court jester—he can leave the castle, learn what’s going on out there, come home, and tell the truth. The USA is 4% of this planet and it is more important than ever that we understand what’s going on with the other 96%. Sharing the lessons learned from a lifetime of exploring, Rick explains how, by traveling thoughtfully, we can take home the greatest souvenir: a broader perspective.
