Lacey Senior Center came to receive the flagpole from the Lacey Sunrise Lions Club, who was originally awarded the flagpole from the Woodmen of the World. Funds for the installation of the flagpole, lighting, and commemorative plaque have also been donated by an individual member of the Lacey Sunrise Lions Club.

Woodmen of the World, one of the largest distributors of U.S. flags, is a non-profit group that has donated and presented more than two million American flags to worthy non-profit and community organizations. The group celebrates patriotism and honors the American flag throughout the year.

The American Legion saxophone quartet, directed by Diana Appler, will play patriotic music throughout the ceremony. Scouts from Boy Scout Troop 222 will serve as the Color Guard.
