Pablo Menendez and the Mezcla Jazz Ensemble come to SPSCC. Menendez is founder and director of the quintet group, which has been active on the Cuban music scene for the past 30 years. Menendez leads vocals and guitar within the band along with both jazz veterans and new, young jazz musicians. The group’s unique blend of Afro-Carribean and Latin jazz music will be sure to convey the Cuban music environment.
A workshop on the basics of the Cuban ensemble will be held in the Black Box of the Minnaert Center from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 17.
