Four female students from the SPSCC program will join women brewers Jen Nicosia and Paige Zahnle from Georgetown Brewing Company and allies Aaron Blonden from Matchless Brewing and Rob Horn from Triceratops Brewing Company at the Triceratops facility in Tumwater. The group will craft the recipe for an exclusive India Pale Ale (IPA), which will be named and canned for a future release party. The students hope to work alongside female industry professionals and local allies to elevate the profiles of women in brewing.

Students will participate in a second Collaboration Brew Day event on March 9, which will feature a homebrew in one student’s home. Skagit Valley Malting is donating grain supply for the IPA and homebrew events.

The Pink Boots Society Collaboration Brew Day is a nationwide effort to raise the profile of women’s roles in the beer industry in alignment with International Women’s Day. Their mission is to assist, inspire, and encourage women beer professionals through education.
