Starting the week of February 25, 2019, one lane of Water Street and westbound 4th Ave W and the adjoining boardwalk will be closed to facilitate work on the Percival Landing Bulkhead Project. The closure will remain throughout the project, which is anticipated to be complete in July. This closure will affect westbound vehicular traffic on State Avenue and pedestrian traffic on the boardwalk. Please consider alternate routes during high traffic times.
The closure is necessary to allow access to the boardwalk for the installation of a new sheetpile wall. Crews will be installing 60-foot sheetpiles, the same as were installed in the first phase of Percival Landing rehabilitation in 2010, just to the north of this year’s project. These sheetpiles will be installed below grade.
