As we prepare for the holidays and the end of the year draws near, this is often a time to list the things we are thankful for. That is certainly the case for Rob Rice Homes, the area’s largest local home builder that has earned a reputation of excellence here in the South Sound.

Rob and Helena Rice, the owners of Rob Rice Homes, have several things that top their gratitude list. They include their community, their company, their business partners and many grateful homeowners.

“Designing new home communities and building beautiful homes is a joy and passion,” says Rob, who has been building in the area for more than 30 years. “We feel incredibly fortunate to do what we do, in a place we love, with our highly-skilled employees and loyal partners. Our many satisfied homeowners make it all worthwhile.”

The Community

Rob Rice Homes is a respected local fixture in and around Olympia. It is also where the Rice family lives.

“We couldn’t imagine raising our children in a better place,” says Helena who, in addition to being a wife and mother, oversees the team of experts that selects the stunning design choices for Rob Rice homes. “Both Rob and I grew up in small towns and we love the tight-knit community and remarkable quality of life here.”

Homes built by Rob Rice are located in one of the most beautiful areas of the country where awe-inspiring Pacific Northwest vistas are common, from views of the South Puget Sound to the scenic backdrops of mountain ranges and the spectacular Mount Rainier.

There are also many treasured area amenities and attractions. Among them are the Hands On Children’s Museum, the Billy Frank Jr. Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge, several outstanding golf courses, the Washington State Capitol Campus and picturesque parks, trails and lakes that dapple the local map.

Rob Rice Homes is dedicated to generously giving back to its amazing community. Recently, Rob and Helena invited some of their team to attend the Saint Martin’s University annual fundraising Gala, where $1.3 million was raised this year for the respected higher learning institution, a jewel in the heart of Lacey, WA. Rob Rice sponsors the event and built and contributed the demonstration kitchen that is used each year by guest chefs at the Gala.

Inspired by the family’s love of animals, the Rices also sponsor “Toast for Tails” another popular annual event to raise money for Thurston County’s non-profit Concern for Animals that helps pet owners who struggle to provide their pets’ food and care. A few years ago, Rob and his sub-contractors volunteered to assist with a beautiful remodel of the non-profit’s home office.

The Company and its Partners

Rob Rice Homes is thankful to have been voted Best of South Sound Contractor, New Construction by the local community for the last five consecutive years.

“I care so much about the quality of what we build,” says Rob. “My name is on my homes and I am determined to stay on top of the details that satisfy our high standards, the reason so many want a Rob Rice home.”

From his building superintendents to the builder’s top sales teams, all share those high standards and his unmatched customer service.

The Rob Rice Homes office is right here on State Avenue in Olympia and local resources contribute greatly to the quality of the company’s homes and communities. Long-term partners include many local vendors, businesses and services–some of whom have been with the builder for more than 30 years.

“I think of our sub-contractors as partners,” says Rob. “Without them, I wouldn’t be as successful as I am. My job superintendents know how important consistency and quality is in our business so they value those longstanding partners the way that I do.”

The Happy Homeowners

Rob Rice Homes has built more than 3,000 new homes in 43 communities here in the South Puget Sound region. Last year alone, there were over 100 new Rob Rice homeowners and that number is on track to be about the same for 2018.

Rob Rice Homes is proud that among those new homeowners are military service members stationed at Joint Base Lewis-McChord who are delighted to find roots in the community through their new homes and neighborhoods.

Rob Rice homeowners often express a deep gratitude to the local builder as they are thrilled with the superior workmanship, stunning design features, expansive landscaping and lush green space that come with their home and community.

“I enjoy driving through my communities—some built more than 25 years ago—because the landscaping matures beautifully and the homes retain their appeal and value,” Rob reflects. “People tell me daily how much they enjoy the open space that I’ve developed. I have many families who are repeat Rob Rice Homes buyers and that makes me feel proud and incredibly thankful for what we do.”
