AG West Black Hills High School girls soccer team defeated Tumwater 1-0 (5-4 in the shootout) after the teams played to a 0-0 draw after 90 minutes, Thursday night, November 1 at Tumwater District Stadium. The Lady Wolves advance to play Hockinson High School, Saturday in a winner to state play in 2A District 4 match.

Black Hills junior Taylor Prante scored the winning goal in the sixth round of kicks after the T-Birds didn’t score in the first attempt of sudden death kicks. Both sides were tied at 4-4 after the first five kicks when both junior keepers, Cassie Mullin of Tumwater and Devin Herbert of Black Hills made saves.

James Corbin, coach for the Wolves, thought it was a great game. “Going into the PK’s I told the girls to relax and have fun,” said Corban.  “Tumwater is a quality opponent, they were league champions for a reason. I thought it was great effort from our girls. They showed heart, they showed passion to complete our game plan and it was successful.” Tumwater defeated Black Hills (11-8) both times in the two previous meetings during the year and ends the year at 11-8.
