The U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation will host the Hiring Our Heroes – Joint Base Lewis-McChord Transition Summit, a one-day hiring event for veterans and military spouses. The transition summit is a collaborative effort to connect transitioning service members and military spouses to meaningful employment opportunities by bringing together key federal and state agencies, military leaders, business innovators, and local community leaders to participate in panel discussions, workshops, and a hiring fair.

More than 100 employers including Airstreams, Amazon, Ammonia Refrigeration Foundation, Boeing, CarMax, Comcast NBCUniversal, FedEx, Hilton, Lockheed Martin, Microsoft, Starbucks, Toyota, Troops Into Transportation, and the USO are expected to participate and have jobs available for veterans and military spouses of all ranks and experience levels. Companies participating in the event range from America’s largest employers to dozens of smaller companies from across the region.

The transition summit will include a series of industry-specific education briefs, veteran-focused resume and digital networking workshops, a town hall-style panel discussion with employers from a cross section of fields, and a hiring fair.
