On Saturday, August 18, interested applicants are invited to Uline’s new Lacey building for a one-day Job Fair. Founded nearly 40 years ago, Uline’s 11 primary warehouses are strategically located throughout North America. There are seven warehouses in the greater U.S., two in Canada, and two in Mexico. The Lacey campus at 3131 Hogum Bay Road NE will open in February 2019 but new hires will start training for work as soon as possible at the nearby Auburn facility.

Uline is the leading distributor of shipping, industrial and packaging materials to businesses throughout North America. The company employs more than 6,000 people and is headquartered in Wisconsin between Chicago and Milwaukee. Aaron Francis, Uline’s Washington Branch Manager, explains that Uline is best known for its quality products, best-in-class customer service and same day shipping.

“We’re a family-owned company known for incredible service and quality products,” he continues. “We offer same-day shipping on over 34,000 products found in our 760-page catalog and on our state-of-the-art e-commerce website. Our selection, inventory and commitment to customer service fuel our incredible growth.”

The Auburn hub moves to their new address with a goal of serving West Coast customers in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, and southern British Columbia. There will be more than 800,000 square feet of warehouse and office space that will be supported by brand new, state-of-the-art warehouse management software, explains Francis.

“The move to Lacey allows us to consolidate our existing three buildings under one roof. Bringing the entire team together will enable speed, teamwork and greater efficiency,” Francis says. “We’re excited to move our operations to Lacey. It’s a booming community that offers everything we’re looking for, including talented people.”

The Job Fair runs from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on August 18 and Uline is looking for general warehouse, maintenance mechanic, as well as facilities and warehouse management. There’s even a potential $2,000 signing bonus for experienced general warehouse new hires and trained forklift mechanics.

Before the event, applicants should register through the Uline website. After initial sign-up, recruiters will review submitted resumes and match candidates with the position that’s the best fit. Job seekers can also speak directly with recruiters at the fair to ask questions and learn more.

Walk-in applicants are also welcome, but Francis says the best bet for any and all is to come to the event. Other hiring events will be held throughout the year with 40 to 50 new staff typically brought on annually to support Uline’s rapid growth.

Once hired, employment benefits include the opportunity for annual bonuses of $5,000 or more, an on-site fitness center, and community involvement on behalf of a stable, growing company. Uline also offers:

  • Complete insurance coverage that includes medical, dental, vision and life insurance, Flexible Spending Accounts and wellness programs.
  • 401(k) with 5 percent employer match.

Within the warehouse, first and second shifts are available starting at $19.50 an hour. There’s a $2 night shift differential and both are eligible for signing bonuses. Not sure if a warehouse job is right for you? With available same-day merchandise pick-up and 99.5 percent of items shipping the day they’re ordered, it’s a bustling, busy job site. Watch one of Uline’s promotional videos or visit them on LinkedIn to learn more, then apply for a new career.

Industry research shows that “In 2017, retail e-commerce sales worldwide amounted to 2.3 trillion US dollars and e-retail revenues are projected to grow to 4.88 trillion US dollars in 2021.” That’s made possible by a vast inventory of bags, boxes, bubble wrap, packing peanuts, and dedicated Uline employees. Clear your Saturday schedule, visit the job fair, and join Uline in keeping business booming and the economy thriving.
