Calling all Olympia Country & Golf Club (OCGC) members and pickle ball enthusiasts! If you’ve been thinking about it but just needed more information, or if you simply didn’t know it was an option, the OCGC hosts bi-weekly pickleball games and is always looking for additions to the team. This casual and fun environment invites men and women of all levels to come to the club every Tuesday and Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. (rain or shine) for two hours of carefree but competitive fun.
Steve Ryan, long-time member of OCGC, has been playing pickleball at the club for several years and raves about the experience.
“Everyone loves the comradery of this game, and it’s much less stressful than golf,” says Ryan. “It’s a blast. We all laugh the entire time.”
Currently the team consists of about 12 men, but they are looking to add a co-ed team and a ladies only team in the future. The natural beauty and surrounding views of at OCGC can’t be beat, with the recently renovated, outdoor pickleball court looking out over Budd Inlet. If you’re lucky, Mount Rainier even peeks out in the distance. Interested members are encouraged to put their names down on the sign up sheet, located at the club outside the Pro Shop.
