Thurston County Roadwork: As crews march toward completion of a project to replace Interstate 5 expansion joints at Martin Way in Lacey, they will also determine future bridge preservation needs for the span that carries southbound I-5 traffic over Pacific Avenue in Olympia.
Work on both bridges will reduce southbound I-5 to a single lane for about two miles from Martin Way through Pacific Avenue. Drivers are advised to plan for extra travel time.
Friday, July 20
- 9:00 p.m. – single-lane closure begins
- 10:00 p.m. – double-lane closure begins, reducing southbound I-5 to one lane
Saturday, July 21
All lanes will reopen at 5:00 a.m.
