Join us for 2 weeks of dancing! Classes include Beamish floor barre, Ballet, Contemporary Dance, Modern, Jazz, Pool Ballet, Graham. Dancers of all ages and experience levels welcome.

Study with director Jehrin Alexandria former principal ballerina with Annabelle Gonzalez Dance Theater, professional ballerina Stephanie Saland former principal with NYCB, Becky Erickson professional ballerina and jazz dancer from season 8 of “So You Think You Can Dance”, contemporary consultant  and choreographer Vincenzo Lapertosa, Joshua Crouch former principal dancer with Spectrum Dance Theater, Deanna Carter choreographer of the original “Dracula” ballet, Dean Speer founding member of the Seattle Ballet Ensemble and author of “On Technique”.

This summers intensive combines classes for college students, as well as young adults from 9-18. There is also a  teachers workshop the first week July 16-20. Teaching the Beamish Bodymind Balancing technique for classical ballet. The focus of the work is training for professional dance using correct body mechanics. The Beamish Bodymind Balancing technique helps strengthen the core, increases flexibility and redefines ballet technique into a user friend and joint safe movement system. It makes dancing enjoyable!

The Northwest Dance Intensive under the direction of Jehrin Alexandria has held their summer intensive at The Evergreen State College for the last 10 years, bringing in dance greats such as Gelsey Kirkland, Suzanne Jaffe, Paloma Herrera, Stephanie Saland, Philip Beamish, and others for summer study. This allows local students to learn from world-renowned professionals in the field of ballet. By combining and offering classes to college students and adults alike it is one of the few of it’s kind.

I have work in Olympia as well as Tacoma and Seattle teaching ballet. Currently, I am developing the Beamish system into a certification program for ballet and dance teachers. having been a massage therapist, Pilates instructor and Gyrotonics instructor I bring a wealth of knowledge to dance.”
