Submitted by Thurston County Fair Office

The 2018 Thurston County Fair is just around the corner and that means it’s time to apply for summer job opportunities at the fairgrounds! To apply for one of the 40 temporary jobs, applicants must submit their application by 11:00 p.m. on Friday, July 10, 2018.

Temporary fair workers help make the fair clean, safe, and fun for fairgoers of all ages. Job duties may include washing tables, cleaning facilities and equipment for two-legged and four-legged fairgoers, selling and collecting tickets, assisting with managing fair parking, and helping with office duties like data entry and answering phones, along with many other tasks and duties that keep the Thurston County Fair running smoothly.

Most temporary positions run the five days of fair but the fair is also looking for a few good people who can work the entire summer and have the specialty skill of driving a tractor. Temporary fair workers will earn between $11.50 and $12.50 per hour.

Temporary fair workers must be at least 16 years old and must submit a Thurston County employment application and disclosure form. Applications must be received by 11:00 p.m. on Friday, July 10, 2018. Postmarks will not be accepted.
