On Tuesday, May 15, 2018, tree contractors will begin removing several overgrown trees on the south side of State Avenue, between Washington Street and Capitol Way. During this time, the sidewalk will be closed to all pedestrian traffic and no parking will be allowed on this section of State Avenue. Area businesses will remain open and patrons will be allowed access. Following tree removal crews will begin working to replace approximately 350 linear feet of sidewalk over the next several weeks.

Travelers should expect lane restrictions and traffic delays during construction. Flaggers will direct motorists and pedestrians through the construction area when necessary. The tree removal is expected to last 2 to 3 days.
