Every weekend, the Iron Rabbit Restaurant and Bar serves an inspired brunch that is sure to delight your taste buds. Although brunch has been on the menu for several years, many of their guests are still unaware that they offer it. “People think of us when they want the best burger in town or a really nice date night,” says Ami Aika, operations manager, “but they don’t realize that we also serve a really great brunch.”

Brunch is served from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday. Patrons can order from the special Brunch menu, or off the regular lunch menu. “Guests have really appreciated that they can get things like fish and chips at 9:30 or a chipotle benedict,” Ami adds.

A brunch favorite, the chipotle benedict consists of a grilled English muffin topped with poached eggs, hot coppa, and a rich creamy chipotle sauce with a side of home fries.

Another popular brunch choice is the victorious egg sandwich, which takes prosciutto, spinach, a fried egg, pepper jack cheese, chipotle sour cream and serves it in a toasted English muffin with home fries.

Iron Rabbit bunch is a great place for families. Children will love the bunny-shaped pancake and fresh squeezed orange juice.

Among the many unique offerings from the menu is a subtly sweet coffee cake that is house-made. The rich, moist cake with crumbly topping is available as a side with the Iron Breakfast, or any of their omelets instead of toast or English muffin. The coffee cake is so popular that guests sometimes just stop in for a piece all on its own.

Of course, the breakfast cake pairs well with coffee and the Iron Rabbit serves the Olympia Coffee Roasting Company’s Sweetheart Blend. The Sweetheart Blend is produced from coffee procured from direct trade farmers, a partnership between the grower and roaster that ensures fair wages and sustainably produced coffee. “It’s been a great way for us to support direct relationships to farmers through our local Olympia Coffee Roasting Company connection,” Ami says.

Iron Rabbit offers many unique beverages to accompany every brunch meal. Patrons love the iron mimosa- a delicious blend of Prosecco, fresh squeezed orange juice, and orange liquor. The iron mimosa is also available in strawberry and raspberry variations.

Another favorite is the bloody mary, which is made with house-infused vodka. The restaurant takes locally distilled vodka and infuses it with roasted jalapenos, tomatoes, black peppercorns, lime, cilantro, garlic, chili pepper flakes, and cayenne. The infused vodka is then mixed with tomato juice, pickled vegetables, and served with a salted rim. “The flavor profile with the house-infused vodka is far superior to anything you can get in a premade bloody mary mix,” explains Ami.

Beyond sourcing locally roasted coffee, Iron Rabbit’s commitment to locally and attainably sourced ingredients carries throughout their breakfast menu. All of the eggs they use are cage-free from Stiebrs Farms in Yelm.

For those more in the mood for something from the lunch menu, Iron Rabbit has you covered. Why not try one of the restaurant’s signature sandwiches? A spin on the classic childhood favorite, their Grilled Three Cheese Sandwich, with Tillamook white cheddar, pepper jack, pecorino romano, red onions and pesto aioli on nine grain bread, is perfectly paired with the Dungeness Crab Bisque.

Patrons can also indulge in a gourmet burger like the zola burger that is made with Painted Hills’ grass-fed beef topped with hot coppa, cambozola cheese, chipotle spread, spring greens, tomatoes, red onions all on a brioche bun. The new, original unbeetable veggie burger can be substituted on any gourmet burger. Made in house from scratch with black beans, roasted beets, carrots and grains, this crispy on the outside, firm on the inside patty is sure to satisfy your burger craving.

The Iron Rabbit’s ever popular fish & chips is also available during brunch. They hand-dip Alaskan true cod in beer batter, encrust it in crunchy panko, and serve with fries, carrot slaw, and tartar sauce.

“Our team really prides itself on timely and efficient service,” says Ami. And with plenty of seating to accommodate weekend brunch goers, the staff is able to ensure their guests have a relaxing brunch experience. Seating is available in the restaurant dining area, on the bar side, and now on the patio that recently opened up so guests can enjoy the beautiful weather this season.

Reservations are encouraged for parties of five or more to minimize wait time. The dining room is versatile so it can easily accommodate large groups with advanced notice.
