The City of Lacey is accepting Work Involvement Now (WIN!) grant applications now through Friday, April 13. The program pays Lacey-based youth groups, such as school clubs or sports teams, up to $300 for service projects that foster community pride by enhancing Lacey parks, trails, neighborhoods, and business districts.

Grant-eligible groups must:

  • Be based in the Lacey area with most of the participants living in the City of Lacey or the North Thurston Public School’s district boundaries.
  • Have a minimum of 8 and maximum of 25 youth participants.
  • Include youth (ages 10 -18) as their primary membership.
  • Contribute a minimum of 40 hours of community service to qualify for a maximum grant award of $300 (one project per group).

Interested groups can get an application at Lacey City Hall, 420 College Street SE, or online on the City of Lacey website. Applications are due by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, April 13, 2018. The City will randomly select 25 grant recipients from the pool of eligible applicants. If selected, an organization will receive up to $300 after completing a 40-hour service project.

In 1994, the Lacey City Council authorized the WIN! program to encourage youth involvement in our community by participating in projects that foster community pride, enhance and beautify neighborhoods and business districts, and improve public safety. The City Council supports a wide range of youth groups and welcomes applications from groups that have not applied in the past.
