The Thurston County REALTORS® Association (TCRA), one of the South Sound’s largest business trade organizations, presented awards to nine individuals at their annual Affiliate Showcase & REALTOR Awards Membership luncheon held on March 9, 2018 at Indian Summer Golf & Country Club in Olympia. The “standing room only” event of more than 150 attendees included displays of dozens of the group’s affiliate member companies.
The awards were presented to Realtors, affiliates and partners who support the Association’s dedication to protecting home and property ownership and professionalism within the real estate industry, as well as enhancing the quality of life in our communities.
“REALTOR of the Year” is a top recognition by the organization each year. The award recognizes an individual who demonstrates the Realtor spirit and faithfulness to the principles of the organization and the REALTOR Code of Ethics.
This year, Tonia DeBeaux, a designated broker with John L. Scott in Lacey was honored as the 2017 REALTOR of the Year. Tonia is the current president of the local business organization with its more than 700 Realtor and affiliate members.
“Tonia has a passion for business administration and accounting and readily uses these skills to serve the organizations she becomes involved with,” Wilkins explained. “Our Association members have benefited greatly from Tonia’s strong commitment and service on our Education committee where she has championed and arranged for new classes to ensure the best educational opportunities are available for our members’ professional development.”

Awarded to: Jennifer Lane and Becca Heyl, Stewart Title and Escrow - REALTOR Special Achievement Award for civic, community and business involvement.
Awarded to: Ed Kunkel, Jr., RE/MAX Professionals - President’s Award for outstanding contributions to TCRA.
