Garth Stein’s New York Times best-selling novel, The Art of Racing in the Rain, holds a warm, fuzzy spot in the hearts of millions of people around the world. Especially dog lovers! When Harlequin Productions opens the stage adaptation (by Myra Platt for Book-It Repertory Theatre) on Thursday, March 1, author Garth Stein will be there to join in the festivities–which include a complimentary champagne reception following the show! Join us and help us welcome him to Olympia!

For those not familiar with The Art of Racing in the Rain, it is the extraordinary story of Denny Swift, an up-and-coming race car driver, as told by his faithful dog Enzo. Enzo is a philosopher with a nearly human soul. He has educated himself by watching television extensively and by listening closely to the words of his master. Through Denny, he has gained tremendous insight into the human condition, and may be the only one who can help Denny through the grueling course of events that threaten his happiness, his career and his family. The Art of Racing in the Rain is a wonderfully funny, moving and uplifting story of love, loyalty, and hope; an enchanting look at the wonders and absurdities of your life . . . as seen through the eyes of your dog.
