The Artesians have struggled to a 0-3-0 record to open the WISL season, dropping three straight games including a 14-8 loss to the Olympic Force last Saturday in Bremerton. The Artesians fared better in the first half than they have in previous games, going into the locker room tied 5-5. But the Force scored six straight goals and nine total in the second half to take the victory.

Oly Town is led offensively by Gabrielle Zaccagnini’s four goals while Christian Segovia, thanks to his hat trick last week, sits in second with three goals. JT Meyer also has three goals for the Artesians while Nate Boatright and Josh Dube have each dished out two assists.

The Tacoma Stars Reserves sit in second place in the WISL with a 2-1-0 record but have scored just one more goal than Oly Town through their three games. They have allowed a league low 15 goals though, thanks to the strong play of long time Tacoma goalkeeper Aaron Anderson. Anderson and Micah Wenzel each captured WISL Defensive Player-of-the-Week honors in week one and week two. JJ Schmeck and Danny Minniti lead the Stars with three goals each.

Saturday is Austin Kelley Awards Night at the Artesians. The team will hand out player awards from last season including the Austin Kelley Memorial Trophy. Tickets for Saturday’s game are available now by visiting www.olytownfc.com/tickets or they can be purchased at the door. Tickets are $8 for adults, $5 for children 5-12 years old, and kids under 5 are free.
