Sip, Savor, and Stroll Through Downtown Olympia

On Saturday, September 9, the Olympia Downtown Association (ODA) will host their Sip, Savor, and Stroll event through the streets and businesses of the city’s bustling core. Running from 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., this interactive night of food, drink, music and more is the ultimate neighborhood meet-and-greet.

ODA Executive Director Todd Cutts is excited that “Sip, Savor, and Stroll” will capture the unique local flavor of downtown Olympia, blending downtown’s contemporary quirkiness with its historic charm. It will offer attendees an exclusive tour of the venues that are leading the downtown renaissance.”

With the aid of presenting sponsors Olympia Federal Savings and Timberland Bank, participants will enjoy exploring local culinary favorites like the Fish Tale Brew Pub, Chelsea Farms Oyster Bar, Tipsy Piano Bar, Three Magnets Brewing, Dillinger’s, Budd Bay Café, Blackbird Mercantile, Batdorf & Bronson, Encore Teas & Chocolates, Curry in a Hurry, Dingey’s Cuisine, Bittersweet Chocolates, and Abby’s Cookies and Cupcakes.

The evening will start with a kick-off reception at the Farmer’s Market, where guests will enjoy live music from The Troubadours. Guides will then usher groups of guests downtown from venue to venue while sharing fun facts about historical downtown Olympia along the way. At each venue, guests will be served small plates of local bites from downtown restaurants. The evening will end at the historic Capitol Theater, where guests will be entertained by Olympia’s own master-storyteller Elizabeth Lord, local musical act Red and Ruby and a death defying show of aerial acrobatic by Sara Sparrow.

All the while, guests will enjoy delicious complimentary chocolates and cupcakes. The evening will culminate with the reveal of winners of the event’s auction items, which include unique downtown experiences and products from downtown retailers.

Sip, Savor, and Stroll tickets are $95 and your RSVP is required by August 31. Purchase tickets online while they last. Monies raised from this festive night on the town go towards the ODA’s mission to ‘Advocate for business and property owners while serving as a catalyst for downtown prosperity and positive perception.’ With this in mind, the ODA Board of Directors “recently defined Advocacy, Cleanliness and Safety, Imagemaking, Business Assistance, and Financial Health as top priorities.”
