For the first time in the history of the Tour of Homes, there will be a “pre-funk” on Thursday, September 14 to kick off the area’s biggest housing experience of the year. Last year’s “Best Chef”, Dillinger’s Cocktails & Kitchen, will host the event (at a location to be announced) and it is open to all Chefs on Tour ticket holders

Rob Rice Homes is thrilled to be part of this huge community event—a no-pressure, fun occasion for the public to view the superior construction and stunning craftsmanship of Rob Rice Homes as well as other quality local builders, remodelers and contractors.

It is a perfect opportunity for those who want to catch up on the latest innovative ideas in new home construction in a variety of homes showcased throughout the area.

“We are excited that our homes will be on the Tour this year,” says Rob Rice, the Best of South Sound local builder. “We know participants will be wowed by the floorplans and upscale, on-trend features in the homes we have chosen to showcase.

For the Chefs on Tour on Friday evening, Rob Rice Homes will welcome guests at two homes while visitors are served by a well-known local chef at each location.

At the Campus Estates community, located in the master planned community of Meridian Campus, the local builder will feature his impressive two-story home plan, The Riviera, with more than 3100 square feet and 4 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, a bonus room and a den. Located at 4223 Bogey Drive NE in Lacey, WA (Lot 31), the home is on the Woodlands Course at The Golf Club at Hawks Prairie, offering lush views of the greens.

This Riviera boasts the newest kitchen trend of gray cabinets coupled with sleek, white quartz counters and jeweled designer backsplash tile. With extensive hardwood flooring throughout the home and quartz counters that add sparkle in all its bathrooms, this home has all the bells and whistles for a snapshot of the latest design trend of “contemporary and sleek”.

Chef Ricardo of Ricardo’s Restaurant, one of Lacey’s “prime” spots for dining, will serve up some of his award-winning food. And, don’t be surprised if you get a chance to enjoy some good tunes as you meander through this stunning home.

After you’ve sampled Chef Ricardo’s food, head on over to this builder’s newest community of Steilacoom Ridge, to see the spectacular Cottonwood at 9624 6th Way SE in Lacey, WA (Lot 64), an ideal location that has easy access to Joint Base Lewis McChord.

This gorgeous home has a popular floor plan of over 2500 square feet and features a main-floor master bedroom and extra attic storage for those buyers looking to downsize, while the 3 bedrooms, loft and 2.5 baths are conducive to family living.

If gold, mercury glass and tile resembling a rich tortoise interest you, then visiting this home is a must on the Tour. White maple shaker cabinets are coupled with a mulberry-stained Beech kitchen island giving this home the warmth and welcome that many desire. Extensive granite, quartz, oil-rubbed bronze and hardwood flooring all add to the home’s lustrous appeal.

While enjoying the home during Chefs on Tour, guests at The Cottonwood will have a chance to satisfy their sweet tooth with delectables masterfully prepared by Becky Gottleib, owner of Gotti Sweets, one of the area’s favorite bakeries.

Tickets & Times

Janet Kenney, a 2016 Chefs on Tour ticket holder, has already vowed to attend this year’s event.

“This is one of the best events I’ve ever attended in Olympia! Thank you for bringing it to us and featuring the stars, builders and chefs in our community. It was nice not to have to drive to Tacoma, Seattle or Portland for an event of this caliber.”
