More than 30 local kids took part in Camp Amazon, a free robotics and STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) immersion experience at Amazon’s DuPont fulfillment center. The campers, between the ages of 8 and 12, spent the day touring Amazon’s state-of-the-art distribution facility and taking part in a series of hands-on learning activities.

Local kids were matched with high school mentors from local robotics clubs Sotabots and Olympia Robotics Federation. The high school robotics teams led campers in activities to introduce them to the science and engineering concepts that drive Amazon’s busy fulfillment centers.

Kids at Camp Amazon get instructions on the “Build-a-Bot” activity where they assembled models of some of the robots at work in Amazon’s DuPont fulfillment center.

Campers were also led on guided tours of the fulfillment center where they learned how robotics contribute to running a busy fulfillment center. For more information, visit Amazon.com.
