The City of Lacey reminds residents and visitors that the sale and discharge of consumer (personal) fireworks, including sparklers, are not allowed inside the city limits. Novelty devices such as snakes, glowworms, and party poppers are permitted.

The City encourages residents and visitors to celebrate Independence Day safely and invites them to their 51st Annual Fireworks Spectacular and Freedom Concert on Monday, July 3, from 4:00 p.m.-11:00 p.m. at Rainier Vista Community Park, 5475 45th Ave SE. The free, family event is sponsored by TwinStar Credit Union, South Sound Center, City of Lacey, and Lacey South Sound Chamber.

Families can bring their own picnics or purchase food from a variety of vendors including savory barbecue, burgers, hot dogs, sweets, and more. Kid-friendly activities will be available in the KidzZone, including an inflatable slide, bounce house, obstacle course and more. Live entertainment starts at 5:00 p.m. with Joy in Mudville playing heartfelt Americana music, followed by high-energy SWAY, covering the latest hits, at 8:00 p.m. The event ends with the Fireworks Spectacular at 10:00 p.m.

Limited on-site parking opens at 3:00 p.m. however, RVs and trailers are not allowed. Additional parking is available at nearby businesses and schools including Aspire Middle School, Timberline High School, Lakes Elementary, and Komachin Middle School. Bikes, strollers, and wagons can be checked into a secure “bike corral” at the park.
