The Lacey City Council is currently seeking youth applicants to serve as representatives on the Parks Board, Historical Commission, and Library Board. This provides students an opportunity to participate in the governmental process while serving their community.

Eligible candidates must be 16 to 18-years-old, enrolled as a Junior or Senior in a public, private, or home school within the North Thurston Public School (NTPS) District, and a City of Lacey resident or the urban growth area. The Mayor will appoint the youth representative to serve a one-year term, from September to September, with the option to serve an additional one-year term, if desired.

Interested volunteers can contact Jenny Bauersfeld at (360) 413-4387 or email jbauersf@ci.lacey.wa.us. Applications are available in all NTPS high school Career Centers and on the City of Lacey’s website.
