Small cities are unique. It’s the personal and close-knit nature of small communities that make them the historical and cultural bedrock of American life. But governing a small town isn’t easy. This meeting in an opportunity for the leadership of Tenino to get together with the leadership of other small cities in the surrounding area and connect.

The Association of Washington Cities annually sponsors a series of “Small City Connector” meetings and this year, City of Tenino was chosen to host the meeting intended for the cities of southwest Washington.  The meeting is set for April 19, 2017 at the Quarry House.

These meetings are designed to allow the leaders of the small communities to:

  • Hear an update on the 2017 legislative session and meet with the AWC Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Peter King.
  • Learn about what’s new with AWC programs and services tailored especially to small cities and towns.
  • Find out about a new Washington State Department of Commerce outreach program designed to connect with lots of agency resources, including infrastructure financing, housing/homelessness, energy efficiency, and many other small community needs.
  • Meet with peers, connect with neighboring cities, share stories and insights, and provide feedback to the AWC.

The Association of Washington Cities is a private, nonprofit, nonpartisan corporation that represents Washington’s 281 cities and towns before the state legislature, the state executive branch, and with regulatory agencies.
