Have you been considering LASIK surgery, but been holding back because of concerns about whether you’ll get the results you’re hoping for? A recently released study by the American Academy of Ophthalmology may ease those concerns and confirm the outstanding outcomes former contact lens wearers are experiencing at Aurora LASIK.
I’d like to share a few of the study’s findings with you.
- More than 90% of LASIK patients who previously wore contacts strongly recommended LASIK for their vision correction. By comparison, only 54% of current contact lens wearers felt the same.
- When patients were asked about difficulty with night driving, 60% of LASIK patients had no difficulties at night compared with only 45% of contact wearing patients who did not have difficulties. Modern LASIK surgery procedures have reduced nighttime vision difficulties to levels no worse than before surgery with contacts.
- One of the biggest concerns about LASIK surgery is centered on dry eye. Early LASIK procedures often created moderate to severe dry eye conditions. However, this study demonstrates that dry eye symptoms are much less common following today’s LASIK (50%) than with contact lens wearers (70%).
- Lastly, recent reports by the Academy demonstrate that LASIK patients are experiencing more satisfaction, less night difficulty, less dry eye and fewer eye infections than those wearing contact lenses! In fact, over 97% of the LASIK patients studied said they find LASIK correction works “better for you than contacts.” This has certainly been the experience of the vast majority of our patients at Aurora LASIK.
So, if you’re ready to start seeing more clearly — and comfortably — without glasses or contacts, it appears the numbers are on your side. Don’t wait another day. Visit www.auroralasik.com or call 844.744.2020 to schedule your free screening.
