This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Capitol Forest Classic scheduled this year for August 13 and 14 at the Fall Creek Day Use Area. The event is sponsored by Friends of Capitol Forest (FOCF), a mountain bike based non-profit organization dedicated to maintaining and building trails in Capitol Forest through a significant focus on volunteer stewardship. All proceeds from the event go toward building and maintaining trails in Capitol Forest.

Whether you race or not, there’s food enough for an army at the Capitol Forest Classic.

On Saturday, August 13, participants can choose to test their fitness during the cross-country race, or try their luck at the non-competitive Poker Run. For those with an appetite for gravity, Sunday will feature the mini-enduro “Double-D” race, where only the descents are timed. There are kids races to match both days, a BBQ worthy of a wedding, and a raffle sponsored by Joyride Bikes in Lacey.

The Capitol Forest Classic is more than a race, it’s a festival, campout, reunion, and tradition! Racers don’t leave until the sun goes down…or they stay and do it all again the next day.

Come and see why this event has kept people coming back for ten years running. “I love the Capitol Forest Classic,” says Sturdy B. Racing’s Ady Bee Lane, who travels from Seattle every year to attend the event. If you’ve never had the great fortune to ride any of the 160 miles of trails in Capitol Forest, read this recent article featured in DirtRag magazine.
